The ski in details
A light, sporty touring ski for effortless ascents
When your main focus is on the ascent but you’re still looking for a ski with great downhill performance, the Rise Up 82 is the perfect choice. For the first time, Völkl has incorporated the 3D radius sidecut derived from freeride and all-mountain skis like the Mantra and the Peregrine into its touring skis. This design combines three different radii, which are fluidly interconnected over the entire length of the ski. This means the curve behaviour is adapted to the dominant waist radius depending on the edge angle. The result is smooth rides at high speeds and a refusal to be unsettled, even in demanding off-piste conditions. A multi-layer wood core makes the ski incredibly light while still providing reliable downhill performance. A full sidewall gives the ski stability and resilience. The Rise Up 82 naturally also features the Smart Skin Clip system, which is compatible with both Tech Fibre and Smart Glue skins.
Technologies
3D Radius Sidecut
Three radii in one ski for maximum turning & speed versatility in All Mountain skiing long Tip & Tail radius. Usage of long radii at tip and tail for big turns and high speed.
Full Sidewall
Direct and strong powertransmission with full length sidewalls.
Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore
The extra-light hybrid multilayer wood core is a very complex core that is used in the Blaze. Light and very stable poplar and beech woods, individually weighed and selected by weight before gluing, are used in this wood core.
Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore 1
A particularly light and complex wood core specially developed for touring skis. In the area around the steel edges, a poplar wood hand-picked by weight provides the necessary stability, while in the center of the ski, the soft and light Paulownia wood ensures the ski's flexibility.
Multilayer Woodcore 1
The side wall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core.
Smart Skinclip
The newly developed Smart Skinclip system allows the ski tourer to decide for himself, depending on the situation, in which direction he should pull the skin on and off.
Woodcore
Special PU construction with a wooden core in the ski body.
