Short turns, hard slopes and high speeds are your passion? Then these slalom skis are the right choice for you. Sporty skiers will experience top-level performance with the models in the Race SL category thanks to their agility and great edge grip, and are also well equipped for racing. For these racers, however, a fair amount of skill and stamina is required. In the 2022/2023 WorldSkitest, the latest models from the best-known ski brands were tested. Here you can find out how the new slalom carvers performed.
Racers for the supreme discipline of slalom
In the Race category of the WorldSkitest, slalom carvers (SL) and giant slalom models (GS) are tested in annual rotation. At the 2022 ski test in Silvretta Montafon, it was again the turn of the slalom models. The highly sporty models are equipped with numerous features from the World Cup. Thus, they offer top performance on the slopes and are also suitable for racing. Although they are somewhat less aggressive and easier to control than the racing skis of the top athletes, for these slalom carvers you still need a good physical condition, sufficient strength in the legs and a flawless technique. If you meet these requirements, you will experience short radii and aggressive turns in the upper speed range with these powerhouses.
Just how high the quality of the slalom skis is is shown by the close test results. Two models received the grade "Excellent" and the other skis were also consistently rated as "very good" or "good". Among the testers in the Race category were former ski pros such as Manfred Pranger, Hans Enn and Jure Kosir.
