Whether you prefer to conquer the mountain through long ski tours or seek the thrill of racing down the slopes, you likely want to protect the environments that allow you to pursue your passions. Choosing sustainable ski wear is one way of protecting nature by reducing unnecessary waste and giving existing recourses a second life. We introduce the high-performance sustainable ski collection by the Finnish premium outdoor brand Halti in more detail.
The “Think Ahead” program
Halti stands for years of passionate product development with innovative technical materials, which are tested by top skiers such as the Finnish Alpine stars Kalle Palander and Tanja Poutiainen. Another crucial aspect of Halti’s business strategy is of course sustainability.
For this, the brand established the “Think Ahead” program back in 2010, which dedicates itself to social, environmental and economic responsibilities. To reduce their footprint long-term, Halti dedicates itself to environmentally friendly materials, low emissions, fair working conditions and more. Additionally, the program aims at creating long-lasting designs and circular economy service models not only in Halti's home country, but globally.
Recycled materials play a central role in Halti’s sustainability efforts. In the current skiwear collection, 63 percent of the products use recycled materials and 72% have bluesign® approved fabrics. Furthermore, all water-repellency treatments are completely PFC-free. This makes the Fall/Winter collection the most environmentally friendly yet in Halti’s long history.
Sustainable garments for all kinds of activities
Depending on your favoured winter sports, Halti offers various outfits for skiing, ski touring and cross-country ski. They are tailored to the specific activity, offering the functions you need to achieve your best possible performance.
For example, the Settler 3-layer DrymaxX ski jacket and matching pants are designed to be warm and breathable without hindering your freedom of movement on the slopes.
For ski touring, the Alpine 3-layer DrymaxX hardshell jacket and pants are particularly lightweight, while still offering the warming qualities required in the snow. For warmer days, there is also the softshell-combo with the Adrenaline jacket and trousers.
Cross-country skiers meanwhile can choose between the Hanki hybrid outfit for a leisurely skiing trip or the high-performance training set Veloce for more intense hours in the snow.
