Hard to believe, but true: in Greece there are around 20 ski resorts with around 200 kilometres of slopes at altitudes of up to 2,500 metres. Tourists are attracted to Greece above all because of the variety offered, as only here one can ski in the mornings, visit ancient excavations in the afternoons and take a walk by the sea in the evenings.
The largest skiing area of Greece is located at Mount Parnassos, less than two hours by car from the capital Athens. There are over 35 kilometres of varied slopes and over 15 lifts, including the country's first and only gondola lift.
