The Pyrenees mark the border between France and Spain. About 200 peaks with heights exceeding three thousand meters (9842,5 ft) are found here. In France the three regions Aquitanien, Midi-Pyrénées and Languedoc-Roussillon have a share to the Pyrenees and therefore attract many winter sport enthusiasts each year. Almost 30 ski resorts invite skiers and snowboarders from all over. The largest area with about 100 kilometers of trails (62 mi) is Grand Tourmalet which connects the descends of La Mongie and Barèges/Pic du Midi. Another one of the largest resorts is Saint Lary Soulan. Very popular with about 80 kilometers of trails (49 mi) is the large Ax 3 Domaines which has not only great slopes but also a wonderful thermal bath called 'Les Bains du Couloubret'. The regeneration after an exhausting day on the slopes is exceptionally easy at the Pyrenees Mountains: the region counts the most thermal baths in all of Europe.
