The Cross-Country Area
Over 40 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails await you in the picturesque landscape of the Triglav National Park. The Rateče-Planica skiing and cross-country skiing centre is particularly suitable for professionals who wish to exert themselves on the network of trails. Those who are particularly ambitious can continue from Planica to the Tamar Valley. Snow-covered spruces line the route, and a mountain hut invites you to stop and have lunch at the end. In the centre of Kranjska Gora there is a two-kilometre trail that takes about twenty minutes and is suitable for beginners.
For all those active at night, there is a floodlit trail for night cross-country skiing behind Hotel Kompas in Kranjska Gora. In pleasant weather conditions, cross-country skiing trails are also groomed in Gozd Martuljek, Mojstrana and Zgornja Radovna. Near the Italian-Slovenian border in Rateče there is also a four-kilometre cross-country ski trail.
