The Cross-Country Area
With a size of around 14km/8.6mi, Chile's largest cross-country ski area is located in Termas de Chillán, which is part of Nevados de Chillán Ski Resort. All of the tracks can be categorised as easy.
In September 2017, a FIS race took place here for the first time. Seven nations from South America took part in the three day competition. For years, the Nordic ski area has been the venue for the National Cross-Country Championships as well.
The ski area is located around 80km/50mi from the city of Chillán, at an elevation of 1,600m/5,249ft, and offers a majestic landscape at the foot of volcano Chillán. There are several hotels, known in particular for their spas and thermal baths.
