The Ski Resort
Just an hour's drive south of Dresden in the middle of the Erzgebirge mountains lies Geising with its ski lifts. In the ski area "An der Wache" a drag lift and a children's lift for the little ones and beginners bring ski enthusiasts to the beginning of the slopes without waiting times. If there is not enough snow for a day on the slopes, the modern snow cannons come into play. With the floodlights on the slopes, ski fans can let off steam until 10 p.m. before heading home or to their hotel. If you feel hungry in between, a small snack with food and drink is available directly at the ski slopes.
The lifts "An der Wache" are only open on weekends, depending on snow conditions. The ski lift Altenberg, which is only four kilometres away, is in operation daily. Information about the daily opening hours can be found on the website of the Ski & Toboggan Arena Altenberg/Geising.
