When it comes to "ski huts with that certain touch", Hochzillertal has been at the forefront for a long time. With the Kristallhütte, there has already been a 5-star level hut in the ski area for over 10 years. Instead of party hits, relaxed chill-out music, cool jazz or live DJ sound comes out of the speakers. On the sun terrace cuddly soft lambskin loungers and waterbeds await the returning skiers. The dreamlike panoramic view of the Zillertaler alps could become already almost the secondary matter there.
No less luxuriously is the 2352m high Wedelhütte, at the Wedelexpress lift. Here, just like at the Kristallhütte, overnight stays can also be booked in suites and rooms with a direct view of the Zillertal Alps. Exclusive, Italian specialties are served in the modern panorama restaurant Albergo. Centrally located at the mountain station of the Hochzillertal gondola lifts is the large Mountain View self-service restaurant with its large sun terrace.
A bit more rustic is the Holzalm at the chairlift of the same name in Hochfügen. Here, guests are still greeted with traditional Zillertal folk music as well as upscale cuisine at relatively reasonable prices. At the bottom of the Holzalm run, you'll be spoiled for choice with Aar-Wirt, Montana Alm, Zirbenhof and Hotel Lamark. You like it small and rustic? Then the Firnhütte at the Neuhüttenbahn is the right place for you. On the small terrace with umbrella bar you can end the day before you start the downhill run to Kaltenbach, which starts here.
Bottom line: The numerous ski huts in Hochzillertal-Hochfügen are well distributed throughout the ski area and have something to suit every budget and every taste. From coffee-to-go to gourmet steak platters, no wishes remain unfulfilled here. Most of the huts are service restaurants.
