With around 60 restaurants and lodges, Kitzbühel excels in this category. In fact, these establishments are so well spread out over the ski area it almost feels as if there is a lodge around every turn. The sun decks located at great viewpoints are very inviting opportunities to take in the majestic surroundings. The Panorama Alm (no. 5) certainly lives up to its name – the terrace offers incredible views over the Kitzbüheler Alps.
Culinary diversity
The cuisine on offer in Kitzbühel is also very wide-ranging. From traditional self-service restaurants with Austrian cuisine, such as the Sonnenrast (no. 15), to the cosy Resterhöhe (no. 1), which has been welcoming guests for some 150 years. The Hocheckhütte (no. 22) on the Hahnenkamm also exudes a traditional charm. If you are in the mood for something a little quicker, the Pengelstein restaurant (no. 12) and its “free flow” system is just the ticket. The Alpenhaus (no. 38) on the Kitzbüheler Horn offers down-to-earth food to help hungry skiers refuel. If you are looking to eat in more exclusive surroundings, the Tonialm (no. 52) offers up top-notch dishes with selected wines. Meanwhile, Berggasthof Sonnbühel (no. 19) is the place to be for connoisseurs and celebrities.
