Beginner's area at the base and mountain station!
The Krippenstein provides novice skiers with a nice little beginner's area (featuring magic carpet lifts and tow lift) right at the base of the gondola. In order to ski the gentle slopes in the resort you need to take the Krippensteinbahn (lift) I and II to the Krippenstein peak. However you only have two easy trails at your disposal there. One of the easy trails takes from the mountain station to the chairlift. The other trail takes you to the base of the third gondola at the Gjaidalm (1750m). If you feel comfortable enough on skis you can ski the 11 km down into the valley from the Gjaidalm. All those who still feel to insecure can take the gondola back down to the valley. A great advantage for beginners in Krippenstein is the fact that you are pretty much alone on the gentle slope because all the experienced skiers and riders are off freeriding and freeskiing.
