Despite its size also suitable for beginners!
600 km of trails could discourage beginners at first. However especially due to its large size the resort can provide beginners with numerous facilities that are designed for beginners. But we advise beginners against buying a ski pass for the entire resort “Les Trois Vallées”. The higher trails connecting the sub areas are often quite challenging. We recommend obtaining the less expensive passes for one of the sub areas and make use of the excellent beginners facilities at the bases. In the sub area Corchevel most of the descents ending at the base are of easy (blue) and very easy (green, the extra category green in France for very easy) level. In Val Thorens the magic carpet for kids won us over which is used by those who take their very first “steps” on skis. Beginners can find adequate trails in each of the sub areas but we recommend especially Courchevel as it seems most suitable for novices.
