The quiet skiing area at the entrance to the Ötztal valley offers all beginners to alpine winter sports a wide selection of slopes. Around 12 kilometers of pistes are marked blue and offer beginners the opportunity to make their turns on terrain that is not too steep. At the top station of the Acherkogel lift, there are two shorter practice slopes, the Ötzi and Wesele lifts. On the Ochsengarten side of the ski area, the Balbach Wiesenlift is the best place to practice. But even those who want to enjoy longer runs will find a number of great slopes in Hochoetz. Because even the red marked slopes are not too demanding and can be easily mastered by beginners.
However, caution is advised on the red runs No. 1 and No. 2 at the Brunnenkopf. These should be avoided by beginners, just like the ski area's two black-marked runs, black run No. 8 and No. 12 at the Wetterkreuzbahn. However, the other slopes of the ski area can be recommended without any restrictions, which makes Hochoetz a little paradise for beginners. Especially the blue marked No. 11 from the Balbach Lift or the long No. 7, which connects Balbach Lift and Zirbenlift.
