Freeride pros are more likely to head for the other Ötztal ski resorts of Sölden and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, but Hochoetz also offers some opportunities to enjoy deep-snow descents off-piste - provided the snow conditions allow it. Ski routes can be found mainly between the Balbach and Wetterkreuz lifts. The local ski schools also offer freeride courses.
