The Cross-Country Area
A good 10 km north of Bad Berleburg lies the DSV Nordic Active Centre Girkhausen between Girkhausen and Hoheleye. The 30 kilometres of cross-country ski runs can be accessed via the Albrechtsplatz hiking car park and the "Auf der Steinert" ski hut. All six cross-country trails as well as the Girkhausen-Albrechtsplatz connection are prepared for the classic and skating styles.
The range of trails extends from easy laps such as the Scheffelloipe to longer tours such as the Ruhplatzloipe to demanding FIS and competition trails. The individual trails can be easily combined and also offer a connection to the Rothaarloipe.
Just like the cross-country skiing areas Winterberg and Pastorenwiese Wunderthausen, the Nordic Active Centre Girkhausen also belongs to the Nordic Sports Arena Sauerland. In total, it offers more than 500 kilometres of cross-country ski trails that can be used with a single ticket.
