If you're into powder, we highly recommend the freeride area in Hochfügen. The Freeride Point in the 8er Shop at the base station of the 8er Jet offers comprehensive information on freeriding in Hochfügen such as the current avalanche situation, weather reports or maps. Mountain and ski guides offer freeriding courses. There is also an avalanche transceiver training search field.
Freeride novices are best off in the terrain at the Holzalm lift. Here you can make your first attempts in deep snow at a moderate gradient and switch back to the groomed slope at any time if necessary. More challenging lines can be found, for example, in the Vordere Pfunds area. Here, however, good orientation is required. If you are unsure, you should only go off-piste with a guide who knows the area.
