The majority of the slopes in Saas-Grund belong to the red category. Especially the slopes between Hohsaas and Kreuzboden thus offer experienced winter sports enthusiasts great opportunities for extensive carving turns. You have the choice whether to take the Weissmiespiste on the right from the top station of the Hohsaas gondola or to take the glacier slopes on the left. There is also a black run as well as the Hohkraut ski route.
However, since there are no chairlifts, you have to unbuckle your skis after each run for the gondola if you don't want to use one of the drag lifts at Kreuzboden. In return, you have a downhill run of about 5 kilometers from Hohsaas down to Kreuzboden. If you ski down to the valley, you can even cover almost 10 kilometers at a stretch.
Overall, however, the range of slopes in Saas-Grund is limited, as there are indeed long slopes, but not necessarily many different ones. Therefore, the ski area is probably a bit too small for sporty skiers for several days and it could get a bit boring in the long run to always do the same runs (as beautiful as they may be). Therefore, it is recommended to choose the destination ski pass for longer stays, which is also valid in the neighboring ski areas Saas-Fee, Saas-Almagell and Saas-Balen. This is available from 2-days.
