Carving fun and sweat-inducing powder slopes!

Whereas vacationers in Europe start complaining when the slopes start getting wavy in the afternoons, in America, man-high bumps in the trails are often described as 'perfect slope conditions.' At Telluride you'll find moguls, particularly off lift 9 (The Plunge), that will get even the best of skiers' quads burning. If you stick to the blue trails (in the US, the intermediate trails, and not the easy trails-as in Europe- are marked blue), you'll find quite a few very well-groomed carving slopes off of lifts 4 and 5. A great example and a real highlight is Lookout, which branches off of See Forever and can be reached with lift no.9. Here you might feel a bit like you're merging fast onto the autobahn, surrounded by thick forest. We do, however, need to mention that Telluride's main strong point are its numerous black diamond runs. If you're planning on spending all your time on the groomed slopes, and are scared to death of moguls, you'll probably run out of options after the first day.
