The ski area lies between 800 and just under 1,900 meters above sea level, but the majority of the slopes are at an altitude above 1,400 meters. This provides Wurzeralm with a certain degree of snow reliability. In addition, about 60 percent of the slopes can be covered with artificial snow, including the slopes at Gammeringsattel and the red valley run. Depending on snow conditions, the season usually lasts from mid-December to mid-March.
