Untouched slopes with deep snow are your territory? Then you've come to the right place in the category "Freeride models over 100mm"! After all, these big mountain slats are absolute terrain specialists. With a center width of more than 100 millimeters, they offer the necessary amount of buoyancy and smoothness to draw the perfect line into fresh powder.
For the perfect powder day
Whether for tree runs or in the high mountains, in fresh powder snow or broken slush - the new freeride skis over 100mm promise great floatation and ensure the necessary safety in the terrain with their smooth running even at high speeds. Those with a certain level of experience can really speed up with these models and leave deep snow slopes behind with just a view, long turns.
With widths between 102 and 115 millimeters under foot, they are truly not made for the piste, but through and through for powder. That's why these models were tested exclusively in the terrain during the 2021 ski test on the Mölltal Glacier. The winners' podium shows just how close the competition is. No less than two models made it to second place.
Target group: 100% off-piste skiers
If you are looking for freeride skis that can also be used on-piste, you should take a look at the models in the "Freeride under 100mm" category.
Test winner: Elan Ripstick 106 Black Edition
The victory in the category "Freeride up to 100mm" goes to the Slovenian ski manufacturer Elan. As a Black Edition, the Ripstick 106 climbs one podium step up to first place compared to the last ski test. It is extremely smooth-running, especially in long turns. On top of that, it scores top ratings in terms of buoyancy. With the Elan Ripstick 106 Black Edition, nothing stands in the way of a great powder day!

In second place is the Völkl Blaze 106. As a lightweight with only 1720g (at 172cm length), the widest model of the still young Blaze series can also be used for touring with the appropriate binding. However, the reduced weight does not detract from its freeride performance. The Blaze 106 is smooth on long turns and delivers very good floatation.

2nd place: Fischer Ranger 102 FR
Equal in points with Völkl, Fischer's Ranger 102 FR also makes it into second place. This freerider stands out especially in short turns and with its maneuverability. However, it also impresses with the classic characteristics for off-piste, i.e. long turns and buoyancy, and is gentle on the riders' energy reserves. The testers also liked the look of the ski. That's why it also won the silver medal in the SnowStyle Award. The Ranger 102 FR is also available in blue. Good news for your wallet: The Fischer is not only one of the best models in the test, but also the cheapest ski in this category!
