You prefer climbing the mountains by your own efforts instead of using the chairlift? Then you need the right skis to support you on your next adventure. The versatile ladies' touring models are suitable for almost any terrain and are easy on your energy reserves thanks to their low weight. This means that nothing stands in the way of long ascents. Here are the women's results from the 2023/2024 Touring Skitest.
For (almost) every touring adventure
Are you still looking for the right companion for your next ski tour - under your feet? The tested ski models in the ladies' touring category with a width of 82 to 88 millimetres are particularly light and mostly designed specifically for the needs of female ski tourers, making the ascent easier. Whether on or off piste, short or long tours - with these skis, your adventure on the mountain will be a great experience.
At the WorldSkitest 2023/2024, the touring models were tested on the Falkert, a well-known starting point for the Carinthian Nockbergetrail. The testers assessed the performance of the skis on the ascent, the performance on the descent and the handling of the climbing skins. The results show once again how high the quality of the ski models is. The first places were fiercely contested and are close to each other in their ratings.
Target group: Touring skiers who do not want to compromise between ascent and descent
Test winner: Atomic Backland 85 W
Just like in the men's category, the victory in the narrower touring category goes to Atomic. A decisive factor for the total of 47.5 points and the test score of "very good" was the easy, intuitive handling of the skins. Here, the Backland 85 W achieved by far the best score in the women's test series this year. That way, cold hands can quickly slip back into the gloves on the mountain. But this versatile touring ski also made a very good overall impression on the descent, especially with its long turns.
