If there is enough snow and after taking into account the current avalanche warning level, there are definitely possibilities for deep snow descents off the groomed slopes. For example, you can ski down from Oberer Rastkopf to Brand or Rinnen. However, there are no marked freeride routes or checkpoints in Berwang. The demands of professional skiers and freeride fans are better satisfied in other sub-areas of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena. Thanks to a ski pass shared by the six sub-regions, it is also no problem to switch to more challenging sub-regions if you feel a little underchallenged in Berwang.
