Good selection of trails for all levels of ability! Plus, a little beginners’ snow park!
When being compared with its gigantic neighboring competition, Whistler, Cypress Mountain will have an extremely difficult time keeping up. It is, despite that fact, nonetheless an ideal choice for snowboarders for a quick, spontaneous trip to the slopes. Its many challenging (black and double black diamond) runs attract expert snowboarders in particular to the centrally-located resort, which is, after Grouse Mountain, Vancouver’s second “house” resort. We particularly recommend the glade runs on “Top Gun” in Black Mountain and the four black diamond runs next to the Raven Ridge chairlift in Mt. Strachan. Less-experienced boarders should stick to the “Panorama” and “Collins” trails. At the bottom of “Collins” you will find a small terrain park for beginners with a few small rails and jumps. More advanced park & pipe fans, however, do not have their own terrain park and must make do with the obstacles nature has provided. If it’s your very first time on a board, you can take the Easy Rider chairlift to the easy trail “Runway” and practice there. Cypress Mountain received a score of 3.5 stars in the Snowboarding category.
