Cowboy bars and western grills in Jackson!
The ski resorts in the US haven't exactly proved to be apres-ski hotspots, but Jackson Hole is laying the tracks. Though the huts on the mountain (so-called „on-mountain dining“), with the exception of Solitude Cabin, at the upper terminal of the Eagle's Rest lift, can't compare with the comfort of the huts in the European Alps, they do serve up some delicious dishes at reasonable prices. But Jackson Hole doesn't show its best cards until after lift-close. Grab a burger and a beer at Nick Wilson's Cowboy Cafe and watch the sun set behind the Grand Tetons or head out to one of the western grills in Jackson (ca. 9 miles/15km) and try one of the local specialties, such as Bison Stew or a grill plate of wild game. Play pool or dance to live country music until the break of dawn at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, one of the many thematic cowboy bars. Besides the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, where the saddles have been turned into bar stools, the Silver Dollar Bar is a further must-see/do of Jackson's nightlife. This bar has been inlaid with over 2000 silver dollars.
