Rendezvous Mountain: Meeting point for all freeriding fans!

A quick look at the trail map is enough to distinguish where the best bets are for expert skiers and freeriders. The entire west side of the ski area in and below Rendezvous Bowl is littered with steep black diamond slopes. Extreme skiers will find everything their hearts desire, from wide powder slopes to bouldered chutes to tree-skiing. So the brand new tram, which runs every 15 minutes, is going to be the go-to spot for the experts. A further highlight is Corbet's Couloir, below Rendezvous' peak. But Corbet's Couloir is neither for the weak-nerved nor those lacking in physical conditioning, who will definitely have problems with the 13-foot (4m) vertical rocky chute. Coming off of the Bridger Gondola are a few more extreme slopes: a short walk from the upper terminal to the east takes you to Casper Bowl, where chutes such as Greybull and Fremont span back out onto groomed terrain. Conclusion: Jackson Hole offers extremely challenging, world-class freeride slopes which will be present challenges for even the most extreme of skiers for days on end. There is no doubt that Jackson Hole truly deserves our highest possible rating of 5 stars in the Freeriders/Experts category.
