In Obergurgl and Hochgurgl there are 9 ski huts spread across the ski area, so no matter where you are, you can find a hut in no time. A highlight is certainly a visit to the all-round glazed restaurant Top Mountain Star at Wurmkogl. Located at 3082 meters directly on the mountain ridge, you have an unforgettable panoramic view over the Alps to the Dolomites. Every Saturday there is live music here. But also on the Hohe Mut Alm awaits a magnificent view on the large sun terrace. The Alm is also known for its good cuisine with refined dishes. Easy to reach for everyone is the modern self-service restaurant Wurmkoglhütte-Mittelstation.
Those who like traditional Tyrolean specialties are in the right place at the Festkogl Alm, while the Downhill Grill at the base station of the Hochgurglbahn in Pill spoils its guests with grilled delicacies such as steaks and ribs. Due to its location and long opening hours into the evening, the Downhill Grill is also a popular location for après ski in a rustic ambience. The Zirben Alm (formerly Davids Skihütte) at the Steinmannbahn base station or the Kirchenkarhütte with its open fireplace are also suitable for a rustic stop. Party atmosphere is set at the Nederhütte, where the in-house band entertains its guests several times a week with live music.
A little off the groomed slopes, there is also the quiet Schönwieshütte near Obergurgl. It is especially popular with ski tourers and hikers. The ascent to the hut takes about 1.5 hours on foot. But there is also a ski-doo transfer from the top station of the Steinmannbahn.
