Free practicing lifts at the bases!

The trail map of the Espace Killy is slightly deceiving. Even though 85 of the 200 km of trails are marked easy which amounts to 43% of all trails, Val d’Isère is certainly no beginner resort. The trails in the upper areas of the ski resort are rather flat and well suited also for novice skiers, but the only way down to the valley is via challenging grounds or by gondola. A very thoughtful and beginner friendly feature are the 10 practicing lifts at the bases giving access to easy practicing slopes which are completely free of charge. Thus you need to pay for lift tickets in Val d’Isère only if you can truly tap the whole potential of the ski resort. We definitely consider the beginners-practice-for-free model a feature that should be copied by other ski resorts!
