During the day, skiers on the Hochkar will certainly find the right hut offer for their personal taste, because there are really plenty of places to stop here. However, almost all of the huts are concentrated around the valley stations of the Almlift and Hochkar-Vorgipfel-Bahn. Here, among others, the cozy ÖTK-Schutzhaus, the rustic Latschen-Alm and the newly renovated JoSchi Almgasthof await.
Somewhat away from the big hustle and bustle is the wind-protected Karhütte in the Draxlerloch at the lower station of the double chairlift Großes Kar. The only hut that is actually up on the mountain is the JoSchi Berghaus at the Vorgipfel. It is the highest pizzeria in Lower Austria and offers a great view from the terrace.
